Events

Santa Barbara based non-profit organizations that produce and/or manage events, festivals, or innovative programming series are encouraged to apply for the Community Events & Festivals grant Program. The program supports quality community events that enhance the cultural life of Santa Barbara and attracts tourism to the City. The Community Events & Festivals Committee assists in the developing, reviewing and recommending grant proposals to the City Council to support events for residents and visitors.

2011 Technical Assistance Workshops
There will be three technical workshops held at the 2nd floor of the Granada Garage Conference Room,
1220 Anacapa Street.
May 9th 4-5 pm
May 17th 5:30 - 6:30 pm
May 25th, Noon - 1 pm
Attendance at a workshop is mandatory for first time applicants only.

GRANTS AT A GLANCE

Community Arts Grants (CA)
Grants range from $500 to $6,000 and are directed at support for short-term projects with a community connectiop. Often these grants focus on children and families and have significant artist involvement. Grant recommendations are made by the City Arts Advisory Committee.

Community Events & Festivals Grants (EF)
Grant recommendations are made by the seven member City Council appointed Community Events and Festivals Committee. The Committee reviews requests for support and makes recommendation for amounts between $1,000 and $40,000.

Organizational Development Grants (OD)

Grants are made to city-based non profit arts organizations to assist in organizational development and stability. Grants range in amount from $1,000 to $18,000. Grants are recommended to the City Council by the City Arts Advisory Committee.
